Andrea Pirlo: ‘It’s been an intense year at Karagumruk’

Andrea Pirlo has spoken about his ‘important and intense’ year in charge of Turkish side Fatih Karagumruk. The former Juventus coach took charge of the Super Lig club in June 2022 but failed to see out the season, having been fired with just three games of the season left.

The Italy legend took to Instagram to share his feelings on his time in the Super Lig, saying he will remain a fan of the club:

“It has been a very important and intense year, full of self and professional growth. I have got to know and appreciate a beautiful city and a different culture, but at the end the desire to find a new challenge has prevailed. I want to thank Karagumruk and its amazing fans for supporting me from the beginning and for understanding my choice.
Starting today you have a new fan.”
