Federico Pastorello, the agent of Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo, has indicated that his client is likely to leave the Turin club in the January transfer window. Speaking at the electoral assembly for the AIACS (Italian Association of Football Agents and Clubs) council, Pastorello addressed the Brazilian’s current situation and future prospects.
“It’s a shame not to see a quality player like him on the field, but we accept and respect the decision made by the Bianconeri club,” Pastorello stated. “We need to find a solution, and in January we will find a new placement for him.”
When asked about the possibility of Arthur moving to Marseille, Pastorello revealed, “There had been a discussion. Given his characteristics, he could be of interest to De Zerbi.”
Arthur joined Juventus in the summer of 2020 from Barcelona for a hefty €80 million fee. His contract with the Old Lady runs until June 2026, with an annual net salary of €5 million. Despite his high-profile transfer, Arthur has struggled to establish himself as a regular in Turin.
The 27-year-old midfielder has spent the last two seasons on loan, first at Liverpool and then at Fiorentina. In total, he has made 63 appearances for Juventus, scoring one goal and providing one assist, while also accumulating eight yellow cards.
