Bayern Munich step up pursuit of Jonathan David: Implications for Inter and Juventus

Start

Jonathan David is set to become one of the most sought-after players in the upcoming summer transfer market. The Lille striker has made it clear that he will not renew his contract, which expires on June 30, 2025. As a result, top clubs across Europe are placing him at the top of their wish lists.

Calciomercato report how Bayern Munich has emerged as a serious contender for David’s signature. According to reports from Germany, sporting director Max Eberl has been tracking the player since his time at Borussia Mönchengladbach and is eager to bring him to the Allianz Arena this summer.

The Bavarian club are reportedly looking for an alternative to Harry Kane, especially with uncertainty surrounding young forward Mathys Tel, who may be seeking more playing time. David could form a formidable partnership alongside Kane, enhancing Bayern’s attacking options.

Inter Milan and Juventus are also keeping a close eye on David’s situation. The Nerazzurri are interested in adding him to their squad, particularly as they prepare for the departure of Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa next season. Meanwhile, Juventus sees David as a potential mobile striker who could bolster their attack. However, any moves by the Bianconeri may hinge on the future of Dusan Vlahovic, whose contract runs until 2026.

Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is reportedly considering a move for David as early as January to get ahead of the competition, similar to last year’s acquisition of Tiago Djalò from Lille for six million euros. However, Lille is firm on their asking price for David, setting it at no less than 20 million euros for a January transfer.

As the interest in Jonathan David heats up, it remains to be seen where he will land next season. With Bayern Munich’s strong interest and the ongoing pursuits from Inter and Juventus, the race for the talented Canadian striker is expected to be fierce in the coming months. His impressive performance this season, with 13 goals in 19 matches, only adds to his appeal as clubs look to strengthen their attacking options.
