Chelsea hoping to beat PSG to Napoli striker Victor Osimhen

Premier League side Chelsea have initiated talks in their pursuit to secure Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, amidst strong interest from Paris Saint-Germain. While Osimhen has been heavily linked with a potential move to the Ligue 1 champions, reports from Gianluca di Marzio suggest that Chelsea have thrown their hat into the ring as well.

PSG’s interest in the Nigerian striker is said to be concrete, and talks with Napoli regarding the player’s transfer could commence soon. However, Chelsea’s interest adds another dimension to the race for Osimhen’s signature.

According to the report, Chelsea has made initial contact with Napoli, exploring the feasibility of a transfer valued between €80 million to €90 million. The proposed deal includes the potential inclusion of Romelu Lukaku as part of the swap, a player Napoli’s upcoming sporting director Giovanni Manna is reportedly keen on bringing to the club. Manna had previously attempted to sign Lukaku during his time at Juventus. However, the success of any swap deal hinges on the willingness of the players involved.

While Osimhen has reportedly met with PSG representatives in Paris, it’s believed that the Premier League has always been his preferred destination.
