Del Piero: ‘No ulterior motives or secret meetings’

Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero has dismissed the idea that his recent visit to watch the team was linked to a return to the club. The 47-year-old famously left Juve in 2012 and hadn’t returned to the stadium since, fueling reports of a feud with club President Andrea Agnelli.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, quoted by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Del Piero elaborated on the news linking him with a management role at the club:

I appreciate the desire to investigate, but right now and especially at this moment, it is inappropriate to comment on a possibility that is not on the table.

Thanks to what happened in the past, the bond between me and these colours is amazing, regardless of what will happen. Let’s avoid comments on a hypothesis and look ahead, thanks for the embarrassment!

There is nothing, there aren’t ulterior motives or secret meetings. I greeted everyone: Andrea, Pavel and many of my former teammates. I was happy to say greet them in person.”
