Venezia manager Eusebio Di Francesco expressed disappointment after his team’s narrow loss to Torino. The Lagunari held their own for much of the game, but Samu Coco’s late header proved to be decisive for the Granata, giving them all three points. Speaking after the game, Di Francesco spoke about the performance his team put in and the narrow marhins that decided the game:
“It’s a shame to have lost this match, there’s great regret. We put in an excellent performance, Milinkovic-Savic made two miraculous saves, and we were naive on the goal. Football can be cruel.”
Di Francesco also voiced his frustration with the timing of the matches in relation to the transfer window:
“It’s unacceptable that matches are played while the market is still open. The League shouldn’t allow it. There are players who could leave an hour after the game. Playing under these conditions is disrespectful.”
Regarding key player Pohjanpalo, Di Francesco commented:
“He’s an important player for us. I haven’t had him for 20 days; he’s only been training since Tuesday and doesn’t have 90 minutes in him yet.”
The Venezia coach also provided an update on Nicolussi Caviglia’s condition:
“He experienced cramps. He’s had very few training sessions and doesn’t have many minutes in his legs.”
