Following Como’s 1-0 defeat against Udinese, Cesc Fabregas, the team’s manager, shared his thoughts in a press conference. He expressed a mix of frustration and optimism regarding the team’s performance and future prospects.
Fabregas felt that his team dominated the game, stating, “I think we dominated for the entire match. When you play like this, eventually football gives you something back. There is certainly anger about the result, especially since we are starting from scratch with several new players. Coming here and limiting a strong team like Udinese without earning points is clearly frustrating.”
Addressing questions about individual performances, Fabregas refrained from singling out players but highlighted the value of strikers: “I don’t talk about individual performances. The team put in a great performance. In football, you pay for the moments, which is why strikers are valued at 100 million, because they score goals.”
Fabregas was clear about his focus on the current squad: “I don’t talk about those who aren’t here. We have 23 players, and I always go with them. The club handles the market.”
Reflecting on his tenure and the team’s progress, Fabregas noted, “I’ve been here for nine months and have changed many things. Moving up to Serie A while changing 15 players is difficult, which is why we’re here. We’re on the right path, and we need to win and score goals, of course. I always like to emphasize the collective and talk about the group.”
