Fagioli: ‘Juventus remain my dream’

On-loan Juventus youngster Nicolò Fagioli is celebrating Cremonese’s promotion to Serie A but dreams of a return to Turin. The 21-year-old played 33 games for the Grigiorossi and is expected to remain there next season, but his future is yet to be decided.

Speaking to Tuttosport, the Juve youth product spoke about the promotion celebrations, and his ideal playing position for the future:

I was taken back by the celebrations. We returned at five in the morning after the win over Como. It was an unexpected success, but exciting and above all deserved. We believed it and were rewarded. My best memory with Cremonese? The goal i scored against Buffon. Gigi is also a great person: at the end of the game he complimented me.

The first congratulatory messages I got were from Church and Morata. I’ve had an excellent relationship with Alvaro and his family since last year.

Ready for Juventus? Yes. My dream remains that, but I don’t know the future and not even Alvaro’s future is decided. For now, I’ll enjoy this victory, then there will be time to talk to Juventus executives and my agents.

Staying at Cremonese? I am very happy here, but it is not up to me. Certainly this promotion is a double satisfaction for me as I also played for Cremonese as a kid. (Fabio) Pecchia is a very good coach. He has a lot of faith in me and I respect him so much.

My Idol? Luka Modric. Dinner with Modric? I would ask him how he’s still so hungry as a player. Modric at Juventus? That would be my dream.

Playing with Miretti at Juve? It would be beautiful, we both grew up in the black and white youth setup. That said, there are many champions at Juventus and it is not easy to find space. The ambition, however, must be that. Seeing Miretti playing is a nice sign for all of us.”
