Genoa goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini expressed his desire to remain with the club long-term during the opening of the team’s pavilion at the Genoa Boat Show.
“I would really like to stay with Genoa for a long time,” Gollini stated. The goalkeeper spoke about the club and his future at the event.
Reflecting on Genoa’s start to the Serie A season, which has seen two draws, one loss, and one win in the first four matches, Gollini said, “Our goal is to always take the field and give our best. We know we can achieve an important result in Venice; everything depends on the performance. We’ve trained well, we’re confident, and we’re working hard. Then there will be two more very challenging matches. The derby? We know the importance of this game. Despite it being a Coppa Italia match, we are keen to progress.”
Gollini went on to analyze his initial period with Genoa: “I’m very happy, I feel very comfortable in Genoa and in this club. I’m having a lot of fun. It’s great to play on Sundays at the Ferraris, with all those people behind us pushing us on. I’m in a situation where I feel very good.”
The goalkeeper also reminisced about his Serie A debut with Verona in September 2014, coincidentally against Genoa. “I’ve come a long way, played many games, had many experiences. Playing with Genoa ten years after my debut is a sign of destiny. I would really like to stay with this club for a long time. There are many beautiful things here, I’ve found a great environment, good people of high caliber, from the coach to the staff to the trainers. Football is played in a nice way and at an excellent level. Obviously, these things don’t depend only on me, but I feel very comfortable here.”
