Juventus linked with Berkay Yilmaz move

Start

Juventus is looking to rebuild with a new project, shaping the team for future seasons under the guidance of sporting director Giuntoli and new coach Thiago Motta. This is evident from their ambitious transfer market approach and increasing focus on young talent. After putting Kenan Yildiz at the center of their plans, Calciomercato report that the Bianconeri are now targeting another young Turkish talent: Berkay Yilmaz.

Berkay Yilmaz, born in 2005, is a left-back currently owned by Freiburg, where he developed in their youth academy. He caught Juventus’ attention with his impressive performances for Turkey in the Under-19 European Championship. Born in Singen, Germany, Yilmaz holds dual citizenship, making him eligible to represent both Germany and Turkey. However, he has chosen to play for Turkey’s youth teams from Under-17 to Under-19 levels and seems committed to continuing with the Turkish national team.

Although Yilmaz has yet to make his first-team debut for Freiburg, his growing performances suggest it’s only a matter of time. Juventus sees him as a potential investment for the future of their left flank. Following the acquisition of Cabal, the club is studying the possibility of securing Yilmaz to strengthen their left-back position for the coming years.

This interest in Yilmaz aligns with Juventus’ new strategy of identifying and developing young talents, as they aim to build a competitive team for the long term under their new management
