Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn confirms that talks are ongoing for Juventus defender Matthijs De Ligt with a new offer expected this week. The Bundesliga champions are pursuing the Dutchman and have made an initial offer that has been rejected by the Old Lady.
Speaking with Blickpunkt Sport, Kahn confirmed the players desire to make the move to Munich this summer:
“We had talks and the player wants to come to FC Bayern. We’ll have more discussions and then see how it goes.”
La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Giovanni Albanese reports that the German side are expected to make their next move next week, and remain confident of signing him.
Albanese suggests that Juve remain willing to negotiate, however they don’t want to undervalue the player and will sell at the price they deem right.
De Ligt remains at the clubs Continassa training ground for now and it remains to be seen if he will make the trip with the rest of the team to the US pre-season friendlies.
