Kalidou Koulibaly to remain at Napoli

Kalidou Koulibaly could renew his contract at Napoli, despite being linked with Barcelona in recent months. The 30-year-old has recently returned to the club having captained Senegal to an AFCON trophy in Cameroon.

Koulibaly has been linked with Manchester United as well as the Blaugrana, but Rai Sport’s Ciro Venerato reports that Napoli have offered the centre-back a contract extension.

Venerato says talks have to extend his stay at the club have already begun and Napoli have offered him a new €5m-a-year deal plus bonuses until 2026.

It’s thought that there is ‘optimism’ over a renewal while Koulibaly’s agent has publicly denied Barcelona’s interest in his client.
