Lazio secured a 3-2 away victory against Torino in the Serie A lunch match, propelling them to 10 points and temporarily into sixth place. After the game, Lazio manager Marco Baroni shared his thoughts in an interview with DAZN.
Baroni began by praising his team’s efforts: “First, I want to congratulate the boys. They did well because we traveled during the week, expending a lot of energy, but the team remained focused. The team knows it needs to grow and is growing. In terms of performance, for what the team has done on the field, we’re certainly missing some points, but at the same time, we should be happy because the team produces, creates, shoots, and brings many men forward.”
He highlighted Guendouzi’s goal as a positive sign: “The fact that Guendouzi scored is important to me because they know that the midfielder must get into the box. We’re trying to make a proposal, the boys are following it, they’re very receptive from this point of view, so we keep moving forward. Work, work, work.”
Regarding the importance of having players willing to sacrifice, Baroni stated: “The team expends effort, but the team expends effort during the week. We work a lot, we work hard, because I tell my players that you play as you train, so if you go slow in training, you go slow on Sunday too.”
Baroni also commented on Noslin’s quick impact: “He’s played some good games. This is a boy who has the beauty of mental clarity. He goes on the field, he must maintain joy. Of course, when you rise in level, the pressures increase, many things increase around you. He needs to stay calm, we’re working with the staff together with him, but also his teammates, because he’s a boy with many qualities.”
On the performance of the Dia-Castellanos partnership, Baroni modestly stated: “I’m not one to celebrate myself, I don’t like that. I work, I believe a coach must have the quality first to see problems and find solutions, and then to see resources, individual and team resources. In seeing them work during the week, I understood that they are players who can work together because they have uncommon mobility, which I like, they put it at the service of the team.”
