Maldini in talks over new directors role

Milan legend Paolo Maldini looks set take a new directors role in Saudi Arabia, five months after being fired by the Rossoneri. The 55-year-old left Milan after a reported falling out with new owner Gerry Cardinale, with co-director Ricky Massara also being shown the exit.

Reports at the time suggested Maldini wanted to replace coach Stefano Pioli with Andrea Pirlo while also asking Cardinale for a personal press officer.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano now reports that Maldini is the main candidate to become new Al Ittihad director in what would be a new chapter in Saudi Pro League
