Manchester United’s Ten Hag eyeing Dybala

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Paulo Dybala from AS Roma, according to sources in Argentina. This development comes as Roma has yet to initiate contract renewal talks with the Argentine forward, leaving his future at the club uncertain.

A key factor in this situation is Dybala’s release clause, which is set to become active in July. As reported by Il Messaggero, any international club could potentially sign Dybala for a mere €12 million once this clause is triggered. This relatively low figure for a player of Dybala’s caliber has put Roma’s management on alert.

Roma’s CEO Lina Souloukou and the new technical director Florent Ghisolfi are currently evaluating their options, taking into account manager Daniele De Rossi’s opinion on the matter. The club is weighing the pros and cons of renewing Dybala’s contract to eliminate the release clause.

Dybala’s agent is anticipating contact from Roma when the team begins its pre-season training at Trigoria. However, this timeline could be accelerated if Manchester United decides to meet the release clause amount.

The Premier League’s allure is undoubtedly attractive to Dybala. However, his current salary, which exceeds €6.5 million per year, might deter some top clubs from pursuing him.

In the 2023-2024 season, Dybala has been a key player for Roma, featuring in 39 matches across all competitions and scoring 16 goals. His impressive career accolades include a World Cup victory with Argentina, five Serie A titles, four Coppa Italia wins, three Supercoppa Italiana triumphs, and a Serie B title with Palermo.
