Inter President Beppe Marotta shared his thoughts on the upcoming Serie A season in a pre-match interview before Inter’s opening fixture against Genoa. He addressed various topics, including potential transfers and the competition for the Scudetto.
Regarding rumors about Gudmundsson, Marotta stated, “As any management should do, we conducted an exploratory inquiry. However, we have an offensive roster that provides ample guarantees, and the matter didn’t progress further.”
On the possibility of a defensive signing, Marotta revealed, “We’re looking for a profile similar to Bisseck in terms of quality, age, and value. We’re following a very promising lead. Ausilio and Baccin are very skilled at discovering young talents. We know there are still 15 days left, and we’re not in a situation of anxiety at all.”
When asked about Palacios, Marotta was cautious, saying, “I don’t mention names. We always need to raise the bar, but throwing out names without having a conclusion can lead to embarrassment.”
Discussing the main challengers for the Scudetto, Marotta offered his perspective: “There are still metaphorically ongoing construction sites at Juventus and Napoli. Milan is already more settled and currently more credited. However, there are 15 days left, and some operations can still be made. I can’t make a precise evaluation because we don’t yet know the full value of our opponents. I believe the grid is still the same; to these teams, I would add Atalanta and Roma. These will be the ones fighting for the Scudetto victory.”
