Napoli considering Kim Min-Jae sale

Start

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is reportedly giving serious thought to selling defender Kim Min-Jae this summer. The 26-year-old arrived in Naples from Fenerbahce last summer in a deal that cost just €18m, despite strong competition from Ligue 1 side Rennes.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the player has always stated that he is happy with Napoli, however his €2m a season salary is a potential sticking point to agreeing a contract extension. The South Korean also has a release clause in his deal with the club which is available to non-Italian clubs effect of July 2024, but only for the first two weeks of the month.

Gazzetta suggest that Napoli can’t hope to compete with the €6m a season salary offers that are being presented to the player from the Premier League, as both Manchester United and Manchester City are following the player with close interest.

With the potential for a bidding war, De Laurentiis may be prepared to cash in on the centre-back at the start of the summer, given that United are already reportedly offering €60m.
