While it seemed that Italian international shot-stopper was on the verge of departing at the beginning of the campaign, Napoli are prepared to offer Alex Meret a contract extension.
Throughout the summer transfer window, it seemed that I Partenopei were set to part ways with Meret and move towards signing a new goalkeeper such as the likes of Kepa Arrizabalga and Keylor Navas due to his inconsistent displays in-between the posts and lack of playing time.
However, with Napoli failing to sign a new starting keeper, Meret took full advantage of the opportunity and has regained the faith of the club following his brilliant displays so far this season.
As it stands, the 25 year-old has amassed a total of 17 saves and three clean sheets throughout the first seven games within the Serie A.
According to reports via Calciomercato, Napoli are confident in Meret and are eager to extend his future with the club on a five-year deal, which is set to be offered extremely soon.
