According to the latest Alessandro Bastoni transfer news, Barcelona are preparing an €80million offer for the Inter Milan star.

The Spanish giants are in the market for a new center-back and believe Bastoni fits the club’s profile and would complement their project.

Hansi Flick has been a long-term admirer of the Nerazzurri ace and has him firmly in his crosshairs. Reports from Fichajes suggest that Barca want to make Bastoni their marquee summer signing.

Barcelona target Alessandro Bastoni

Alessandro Bastoni Transfer News Doesn’t Bode Well For Inter Milan

Although Alessandro Bastoni played down Barcelona links in December, it’s understood that the player and his representatives have verbally agreed to the move.

Bastoni is very much happy at Inter Milan but a new challenge with a global powerhouse such as Barca is an opportunity he won’t dismiss.

Especially as he will become the center-piece of the back four. From Inter’s perspective, that won’t stand in his way if he does want to quit Serie A for LaLiga.

However, Cristian Chivu will try to change Bastoni’s mind by offering him new and improved terms. His current deal expires in 2028 and the Inter boss will fight hard to keep him at the San Siro.

Bastoni’s intrigue and desire for the project presented to him at the Nou Camp is one that excites the Italy international which is believed to be enough to tilt the scales in the Spaniard’s favor.

Who Could Inter Milan Sign To Replace Alessandro Bastoni?

As much as Inter Milan wants to keep Alessandro Bastoni on board, a number of replacements have already been identified by the Serie A leaders.

Bastoni’s transfer hint to Barcelona wasn’t well received by the club when the player ‘liked’ a social media comment linking him to Hansi Flick’s charges.

Therefore, exercising Aleksandar Stankovic’s buyback clause is a consideration. Primarily a defensive midfielder, the Serbian can also operate as a center-back.

The 20-year-old is highly-rated by Inter and Cristian Chivu would welcome him back to the San Siro. Elsewhere, Inter have targeted Tarik Muharemovic.

With a transfer value of approximately €25m, the Bosnian fits well into the Nerazzurri’s budget. Muharemovic currently represents Sassuolo and has been one of the standout stars in Serie A this term.

Lecce’s Tiago Gabriel is also on Chivu’s radar. The 21-year-old – similar to Muharemovic – has really caught the eye owing to his impressive performances this year.

John Stones is also an option. The Manchester City defender is out of contract in the summer and would consider a move to Italy. But only if Pep Guardiola does decide to let him leave.
