They are also looking to secure his replacement, Viktor Bergh from Varnamo, before finalizing the deal. Despite these conditions, the transfer seems to be nearing completion, with Dahl set to become Angelino’s understudy in the coming days.
On the right flank, Roma are seeking a starting-caliber player to replace Rick Karsdorp, who is currently training alone at Trigoria and considering a move to Turkey. After exploring options like Raoul Bellanova and Guéla Doué, the club have shown significant interest in Lorenz Assignon from Rennes.
Assignon, a 24-year-old right-back with a contract until 2027, spent the latter half of last season on loan at Burnley in the Premier League. Valued at around 7-8 million euros, he is seen as a player ready to make an impact at a higher level. The potential sale of Calafiori to Arsenal for 8 million euros could provide additional funds for Roma’s transfer activities. The club’s legal team has requested recognition of their 40% sell-on clause from Basel, which could remain valid due to the Swiss club including a resale percentage when transferring Calafiori to Bologna.
