New Lazio signing Nicolo Rovella says joining the club was a ‘dream’ and revealed he pushed to join the Biancocelesti. The young midfielder had a promising loan spell with Monza last season, before returning to Juventus this summer. The Bianconeri opted to transfer the 21-year-old in a €20 million deal, and speaking with the Lazio channel, Rovella explained why the move was one that he ‘strongly wanted:
“Being here is a dream, when I heard about the possibility of coming here to play for Lazio, I pushed and strongly wanted the transfer, both for the coach who wanted me and for everything else, the city….. I knew Luca (Pellegrini, ed), who spoke to me about the club, I can’t wait.”
“Coach Sarri is a master, he knows football very well, I will rely totally on him, I hope I can improve in everything. The one who impressed me the most, playing against him for a few years as well, is Luis Alberto, he has incredible quality, I hope to play with him as many games as possible.”
“The derby of the Capital is the most beautiful in Italy, I can’t wait to play it, the emotions I will feel will be indescribable. I have played a similar derby, which is the one between Genoa and Sampdoria, although here the city is bigger, the teams are even stronger. It will be a great emotion.”
