Serie A | Inter v Como: Probable starting lineups

Start

As Inter Milan gears up to face Como in their upcoming Serie A fixture, manager Simone Inzaghi is set to recall his star players after rotating the squad in Thursday’s match. The formidable attacking duo of Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez is expected to lead the line, with Mehdi Taremi and Marko Arnautovic making way.

Despite Martinez’s recent goal drought at San Siro, with only one of his last six league goals coming at home, the Inter captain is likely to retain his starting position. However, the team faces some challenges in other areas of the pitch.

The defensive line remains depleted with Benjamin Pavard and Francesco Acerbi still sidelined. In midfield, Nicolo Barella is doubtful due to a thigh issue, potentially delaying his return until the match against his former club Cagliari or the upcoming Supercoppa Italiana.

Como, the visiting team, also has its share of absentees. Maximo Perrone, Alberto Moreno, and Marco Sala are unavailable, which may see Federico Barba filling in at left-back, potentially facing off against Inter’s Denzel Dumfries.

One player to watch from Como is Nico Paz, who has been attracting attention from top clubs, including Inter. With two goals and three assists in Serie A this season, Paz is joint-top contributor for Como alongside Patrick Cutrone.

Inter Milan (3-5-2): Sommer; Bisseck, De Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfries, Frattesi, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Martinez, Thuram

Como (4-2-3-1): Reina; Van der Brempt, Goldaniga, Kempf, Barba; Da Cunha, Roberto; Strefezza, Paz, Fadera; Belotti
