Spalletti: “Our city, our fans, keep us on track”

Start

Following Napoli’s compelling 3-0 victory over Cremonese within their home ground, Luciano Spalletti provided his insight on the fundamental win.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia broke the ice as he dazzled along the flanks and cut towards the inside to slither past the opposition to curl the ball into the second post on his 22nd birthday to make it nine goals and nine assists in 18 games played within the domestic league for the Georgian international.

A pair of two additional goals from Nigirian hit-man Victor Osimhen and late substitute Elif Elmas enabled Spalletti’s side to seal all three points and move 16 points clear of Inter, who possess a game in-hand.

While speaking to the press, as relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, The Tuscan tactician gave his point-of-view regarding his men’s display on Neapolitan soil:

“Our city, our fans, keep us on track. And this possibility of doing important things. Everyone perceives it, indeed perhaps too much, given that in the first half we weren’t as calm in the ballpark as we usually are. We got a little nervous about some turnovers and it was more difficult. Then from there Cremonese used their tactics, with wide fifths, and made us lose energy having to defend against the many balls they put into our penalty area. In the second half then much better and when we got the ball going with more order I applauded because that’s what we have to do, that’s our team”.

You see a total availability from the whole team.

“The availability is total at the moment. We have professional footballers, good guys, they all train well and they are all willing to spend racing to train the team. They must be ready to destroy themselves on the pitch for a result because a result can make the difference So we need this attitude here”.

He once said that Osimhen had a great desire to improve himself. She was right and now she no longer protests.

“There are some things that shouldn’t interest us, which concern different stuff than what should be our attention, i.e. the protests. Tonight there was an episode on which we could have had a different reaction, instead the kids all remained orderly. What the referee gives us is what we deserve, otherwise the players get nervous and think they have had disadvantages. Instead we have to win games despite the things we find in the way. If one takes 20″ to lose time is 20″ that never comes.”
