Tuttosport: Ultras leader’s alleged communication with Inter legend Materazzi revealed

Start

A new development has emerged in the ongoing investigation into the ultras groups of Inter Milan and AC Milan. According to reports from Tuttosport, Marco Ferdico, a prominent Inter ultras leader who was recently arrested, had a phone conversation with former Inter defender Marco Materazzi regarding police activities.

The investigation, which has led to 19 arrests and effectively dismantled the leadership of both Milan clubs’ ultras groups, continues to uncover complex relationships between the fan organizations and club officials.

Massimiliano Silva, an Inter executive responsible for fan relations, has provided a statement to investigators. He revealed that Ferdico had informed him that all communications between the club and the fan base were to go through Ferdico himself. This arrangement apparently began in January 2023, following the murder of former ultras leader Vittorio Boiocchi in late 2022.

Silva also disclosed details of a meeting on July 28, 2023, where Ferdico introduced him to an unfamiliar individual, described as a short man in his 30s. This person was later identified as Antonio Bellocco, heir to a ‘Ndrangheta crime family, who was killed last month by another Inter ultras leader, Andrea Beretta.

The investigation has highlighted what the judge describes as a “sort of servility” from Silva towards Ferdico’s demands. This included adhering to Ferdico’s instruction to exclude the “Irriducibili” ultras group from communicating directly with Inter following Boiocchi’s death.
