West Ham are stepping up their interest in Torino defender Perr Schuurs and could make a bid to sign him next week. The 23-year-old only arrived in Serie A last summer, having spent five seasons with Ajax, but went on to have a big season for the Granata, playing 33 games across all competitions.
Sky Sport Italia report that the Hammers are very keen on the Dutch centre-back as they look to reinforce their defensive department for coach David Moyes,
The Hammers will reportedly begin contacts in the coming days to understand the feasibility of the operation and also understand the demands of Torino. In addition, it will also have to be seen whether Schuurs himself is willing to make the move to West Ham.
In the 2022-23 Serie A season, Schuurs was one of the best defenders in the league and comfortably the Granata’s most important centre-back, averaging 1.7 tackle per game.
