Juventus youngster Kenan Yildiz spoke about meeting his idol Del Piero, and explained that he joined the Bianconeri because it was the best option for him. The young Turkish talent made the move to Turin in 2022 and has rapidly progressed through the ranks, making it into the first team. Speaking with TRT Spor, Yildiz spoke about making the move to Italy and his relationship with coach Max Allegri:
“Choosing Juve over staying at Bayern? I went going to Juventus because it was the best footballing option for me.”
“What’s it like playing for Juve where Del Piero, Nedved and Buffon wore the same jersey? Of course to wear a shirt like Juventus, it’s just wow. Because the players that played here, the legends, it’s a feeling that you cannot describe.
“My Del Piero celebration? For me Del Piero is an idol, my goal celebration started last year in the under 19’s. Out of nowhere I did it, and I tried to keep it. I met him, and I was shaking a little bit!
“New contract and No.10 shirt? Of course the No.10 is everything here. But for real, I haven’t thought about it and I can’t speak about it.”
“Relationship with the teammates and the coach? It’s very great, we have a great team spirit, we have a lot of fun, it’s really great. He (Allegri) speaks with me a lot. He tries to push me. Of course, sometimes I don’t understand him and I get it translated, he’s really great guy.”
“How did Allegri react to my haircut? He just said ‘You can cut your hair’, and the next day I did it. When he said it, I did it….”
