Juventus still waiting for Di Maria response

Start

Juventus are still waiting for a response from Argentine winger Angel Di Maria and may still face competition from Barcelona. The 24-year-old is out of contract with PSG this summer and wants to continue playing in Europe ahead of the World Cup, despite not having publicly commented on where his future lies.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Di Maria has two offers, from Barcelona and Juventus, and they are both equivalent because both clubs have met the player’s needs by offering him only one year of contract and the amount he wants: €7m.

‘Fideo’ has taken a few days (or weeks…) of reflection while It’s emerged that his first choice is Barcelona, but the Catalan club have great economic difficulties and must sell two or three players before proceeding with new additions to the squad.

Di Maria has reportedly decided to wait for Barcelona, even if not indefinitely and Juve have understood that this could have been the reason for a lack of response and have tried to force the player to make a choice, via his agent.

At the moment, the Juve pressure has had no effect and while the Bianconeri don’t want to be second choice, they are insisting on Di Maria who is considered a highly functional player for the team.

Carlos Tevez, who has just become coach of Rosario Central, also publicly invited Di Maria to play for his new club but Rosario will probably be the last stage of Di Maria’s career in a years time.
