Milan unveil Champions League squad: Fonseca’s choices revealed

Start

AC Milan have officially submitted their squad list for the Champions League group stage to UEFA, with manager Paulo Fonseca making some notable decisions. As anticipated, Luka Jovic has been left out of the squad to make room for the recently acquired Tammy Abraham, who will join Alvaro Morata in bolstering the attacking options.

Jovic isn’t the only player omitted from the list. Out-of-favor players Fodé Ballo-Touré and Divock Origi have also been excluded. Young prospects Alex Jimenez and Silvano Vos, both born in 2005, didn’t make the cut as they don’t meet the requirements for the B List, having not been with the club for at least two years. Despite his injury, Alessandro Florenzi has been included in the squad.

The official Champions League A List for AC Milan includes:

Goalkeepers: Mike Maignan, Marco Sportiello

Defenders: Davide Calabria, Theo Hernandez, Emerson Royal, Fikayo Tomori, Malick Thiaw, Strahinja Pavlovic, Filippo Terracciano, Matteo Gabbia

Midfielders: Ismael Bennacer, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tijjani Reijnders, Youssouf Fofana, Yunus Musah

Forwards: Alvaro Morata, Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic, Noah Okafor, Samuel Chukwueze, Tammy Abraham

The club has also submitted a B List featuring several youth players, including Adam Bakoune, Davide Bartesaghi, Andrea Bozzolan, Francesco Camarda, Andrei Coubis, Hugo Cuenca, Victor Eletu, Mattia Liberali, Vittorio Magni, Mattia Malaspina, Lapo Nava, Dorian Paloschi, Diego Sia, Dariusz Stalmach, Lorenzo Torriani, Chaka Traoré, and Kevin Zeroli.
