Saudi Arabian side Al Shabab have officially announced the signing of Italian midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura. The Saudi Arabian club secured the midfielder on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Fiorentina.
Bonaventura, affectionately known as “Jack,” will continue his career in the Saudi Pro League. After many years in Serie A, the Italian midfielder was eager to embark on a new adventure abroad. This move marks a significant change in his career, offering him a fresh experience outside of Europe.
The decision to join Al Shabab was influenced by the presence of his compatriot Domenico Teti, who serves as the club’s sporting director. Bonaventura’s extensive career in Italy includes stints with Atalanta, Milan, and Fiorentina. In his final season with Fiorentina, he made 41 appearances across all competitions, scoring 8 goals and providing 4 assists.
