Liverpool has officially confirmed the signing of Federico Chiesa from Juventus on a permanent transfer, pending international clearance. The 26-year-old Italian international, previously with Fiorentina, joins the Reds for a fee reported to be around €15 million.
Chiesa has signed a four-year contract at Anfield, which will keep him with the club until the summer of 2028. Expressing his excitement about the move, Chiesa stated, “I’m so happy to be a Liverpool player. When Richard Hughes called me and said, ‘Do you want to join Liverpool?’ – and the coach called me – I said yes immediately because I know the history of this club, I know what it represents to the fans.”
After four seasons with Juventus, where he made 131 appearances and scored 32 goals, Chiesa’s departure comes amid a challenging summer. New Juventus manager Thiago Motta informed him that he would not be part of the team’s plans for the upcoming season, leading to Chiesa training away from the first team. Despite interest from Barcelona, Liverpool secured his signature as Juventus sought to offload players before the end of the transfer window.
