Goalkeeper Mattia Perin explained how experience made the difference during his excellent performance in Juve’s 2-0 win over Spezia. The Old Lady struggled to carve out clear cut chances, but Perin was excellent between the sticks, making eight saves, including a vital one to deny Emmanuel Gyasi what looked a certain goal. Speaking to DAZN after the match, Perin explained how he was able to recover in time for the game and why experience helps in the key moments:
“I was at home with the flu for three days, but I came back and my team-mates made me feel immediately at ease. We prepared well for this game after the one against Nantes and we took three important points, aware that now another very difficult match awaits us.
“I don’t like remembering those saves made in the past, I like living here and now, thinking about the present. With experience I understood that he (Gyasi) could kick there and that gave me a hand.
“We know that we have to improve ourselves on a daily basis, what we do is never enough. We have to improve in the details. To go to Nantes to win you need to play a Juve game, we know that in order to win we have to be that Juve.”
