Turkish Giants On Red Alert As Roma Prepare To Offload Artem Dovbyk

Start

The latest Artem Dovbyk transfer news has revealed that Besiktas are interested in signing the Roma striker this summer.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side is willing to offload the Ukrainian after just 12 months at the Stadio Olimpico. Dovbyk netted 17 times in all competitions with 12 of those strikes coming in Serie A.

The 28-year-old moved to the capital for €30.5million plus bonuses from Girona in August 2024. During his lone season at the Estadi Montilivi, he finished as LaLiga top scorer with 24 goals.

However, Dovbyk wasn’t able to fully replicate his exploits in front of goal in Italy last season. Now Evan Ferguson has been drafted in, head coach Gasperini is happy to cash in.

Artem Dovbyk Transfer News

The Artem Dovbyk transfer news has put Besiktas on red alert as the Turkish giants aim to recruit another striker ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Led by former Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Istanbul-based side are keen on Dovbyk and have already opened talks with Roma.

Although a formal bid hasn’t yet been placed, negotiations have started positively between the two clubs. Solskjaer actually wants Dovbyk to partner Giallorossi star Tammy Abraham up top. The Englishman is on loan at the club.

Inter outcast Mehdi Taremi had been Solskjaer’s No.1 target but news of Dovbyk’s availability has seen the Norwegian boss favor the Ukrainian international instead.

Artem Dovbyk Transfer Value

According to reports, Roma is willing to do business for approximately €35m to allow Artem Dovbyk to quit the Stadio Olimpico this summer.

If a deal for that figure can be reached, that will give the Giallorossi small profit on the original outlay they spent on the 28-year-old striker.

Head coach Gian Piero Gasperini is adamant that their valuation must be met. It’s not known at this stage whether Besiktas would be able to do so.

However, a smaller, initial payment with adds-on/bonuses could still tempt the Italians into selling. Gasperini is keen to raise more funds despite cashing in on Enzo Le Fee, Samuel Dahl and Nicola Zalewski.

Who Will Roma Replace Artem Dovbyk With?

If Artem Dovbyk was transferred out of Roma on a permanent deal, it’s likely that Roma would try to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Man United.

The Dane actually played under Gian Piero Gasperini at Atalanta in the 2022-23 campaign. Offshore sportsbooks have also shortened their price on Hojlund reuniting with his former boss at the Stadio Olimpico.

It’s no secret that Hojlund’s time at Old Trafford is potentially up after struggling for the Red Devils. It was the 22-year-old’s form at the Gewiss that tempted United to pay €73m for his services in 2023.

However, Gasperini won’t be shelling out a similar sum to obtain Hojlund. The potential fee that they receive for Dovbyk should be enough to see Ruben Amorim’s side do business.
