Atalanta is carefully considering their options to reinforce their attack following the unfortunate injury to Gianluca Scamacca. The club are evaluating various profiles to fill the void left by the Italian striker’s absence.
According to Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, one of the primary targets for the wing position is Nico Gonzalez, who has also attracted interest from Juventus. The Bergamo-based club sees Gonzalez as a potential solution to bolster their offensive capabilities.
For the central striker role, Atalanta has set their sights on Mateo Retegui. The Italian-Argentine forward, who recently participated in the European Championship with the Italian national team under Luciano Spalletti, is currently with Genoa. However, Genoa considers Retegui non-transferable, especially given the potential departure of Albert Gudmundsson.
Genoa now faces the task of gauging Atalanta’s level of interest in Retegui. Earlier in the transfer window, the Ligurian club had considered M’Bala Nzola and Nikola Krstovic as potential additions to their squad.
