Baroni: “There will be more departures; we want people who believe”

Start

Verona coach Marco Baroni confirmed that he expects there to be more exits from the club: “We want people who believe”. Hellas sit in 16th place following their 1-1 draw with Frosinone, and speaking post-match, Baroni explained what he expects from his team moving forward as they find themselves dangerously close to the relegation spaces:

“Beyond the positive result, we care about the performance. I won’t let this team give up. It provided an important response. I tried to give more certainty to the team. In the first half, we put Frosinone in great difficulty. With the substitutions, we dropped, but some players have only arrived a few days ago. However, with this update, the team is alive. I believe there will be a few more departures. We only want people who want to stay here, fight, and believe in it.”

“New Arrivals? We look at opportunities. I don’t like to look back; I look ahead. The team trains hard. We are in a beautiful stadium, with extraordinary fans. We are in one of the top five leagues in Europe: there is no reason to take a step back, if anything, forward. Noslin impressed me; he provides different solutions. He arrived very recently, but I saw him immediately as enterprising. Others, however, need to quickly understand the pace of our league.”

“transfer market and Penalty Issues ?I spoke with the guys. Here, we need heads first of all, people who want to give 150%. If someone is not well, we look for other solutions; I don’t care to know the reason. We need lively people. We can only achieve our goal with people who give everything. Penalties? I never watch them, but I watched the second one. When these mistakes are linked, a greater fear comes in. But already winning them is important because it means we enter the area and have opportunities. Duda was good; I never throw blame on those who make mistakes. You have to have the courage to show up there. The next penalty? The crowd suggested Montipò. Jokes aside, Duda is a fantastic guy. If he feels up to it, he will respond.”
