Reports from Italy suggest there are doubts of Merih Demiral’s future at Atalanta, despite their option to sign him. La Dea were thought to be keen on signing the Turkish international outright for a reported €20 million fee when his loan ended, however his future may lie back at Juventus or elsewhere.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Atalanta are seriously considering not signing Demiral this summer, meaning he would return to Juventus or be sold on to another club.
Calciomercato.com report in a similar vein, but suggest the decision is down to Demiral himself who would prefer a move to the Premier League. Calciomercato also suggest that there has already been interest from as yet ‘unnamed’ English sides.
Demiral made 43 appearances for Atalanta this season across all competitions, scoring two goals along the way.
