Fiorentina pushing for for Casadei: Agreement with Chelsea still pending

Start

Fiorentina continue to be active in the transfer market, with their sights set on acquiring Chelsea’s Cesare Casadei.  The 21-year-old joined the Blues from Inter in the summer of 2022, initially playing in their Under-21 team, before joining Leicester City on loan for the 2023-24 season.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Viola are keen on bringing the young midfielder to the Stadio Artemio Franchi, however, an agreement with Chelsea regarding the transfer formula is yet to be reached.

In a significant development, Chelsea’s manager Enzo Maresca has not included Casadei in the squad for the club’s upcoming tour in the United States, potentially paving the way for a move.

Fiorentina’s interest in the 2003-born player is strong, and the club’s management continues to push for the transfer. The Tuscan side sees Casadei as a valuable addition to their squad, recognizing his potential and the impact he could make in their midfield.

However, negotiations are still ongoing between Fiorentina and Chelsea. The main sticking point appears to be the transfer formula, with both clubs yet to find common ground on the terms of the deal. This could involve discussions about whether it will be a loan, a permanent transfer, or if there will be any option or obligation to buy included in the agreement.

Despite this hurdle, Fiorentina remains determined to secure Casadei’s services. The club’s persistence in pursuing the player indicates their belief in his abilities and the role he could play in their future plans.
