Napoli director Cristiano Giuntoli says that Kalidou Koulibaly is untransferable for the club, despite the interest from Juventus. The Bianconeri held a meeting with the Senegalese international’s agent earlier in the week, fueling speculation that Juve would make an offer for the 31-year-old.
Koulibaly is in the final year of his contract with the Partenopei and talks over a contract extension have stalled so far.
Speaking at a press conference earlier today, Giuntoli addressed speculation regarding a number of their players:
“As for Kalidou, who has represented Napoli in the last nine years in an extraordinary way, we are talking to him and the president has offered him an extraordinary offer of €6 million net for 5 years, also offering him a future as a manager. This incredible proposal, which the boy deserved for his work on and off the pitch, its as if it were worth double that of what he earned before.
“His response? He replied that he must think about it, that he must look around, he took some time. A veto towards dealing with Juventus? There is no need, for us Koulibaly is untransferable.
“We have an extra-large captain’s arm band ready for him.”
