Guida and Massa to be suspended

Italian referee’s Davide Massa and Marco Guida are expected to be suspended for at least three games following their error in the Torino – Inter match. Massa was the VAR referee while Guida was the on-pitch referee for the 1-1 draw.

Il Corriere dello Sport and Il Corriere della Sera report that Massa informed Guida that Andrea Ranocchia ‘touched the ball before Andrea Belotti’s foot’ so there was no on-field review of the foul in the box.

Replays have since shown that it was a clear penalty that was missed and Torino could have doubled their lead as they were already 1-0 up at the time.

According to multiple reports in Italy, Massa and Guida will be suspended for between 3-4 games and are expected to miss out on at least one month of the Serie A calendar.
