According to reports in Italy, Inter are looking to sign Bologna midfielder Jerdy Schouten this summer. The Nerazzurri want to bring in a player who can deputise for Marcelo Brozovic next season and have identified a number of young targets.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report (via FCInterNews.it) that Schouten has emerged as one of the candidates the club are looking to, following his impressive season for Bologna.
The players agent is expected to meet with Inter representatives next week, but Rossoblù chairman Joey Saputo sees the Dutchman as almost ‘untouchable’ but would be prepared to negotiate at the right price.
Inter may look to offer a number of youth players as counterparts in any potential deal, including Martin Satriano, Sebastiano Esposito or possibly Andrea Pinamonti, should Marko Arnautovic leave Bologna in the summer.
Empoli midfielder Kristjan Asllani is also considered a target but Newcastle United have made their interest known and Inter may struggle to compete financially for his signing.
