Juventus are still interested in Donnarumma

Juventus are still interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper, having come close to agreeing a move last summer. The 23-year-old opted to move to the Ligue 1 side but reports from Italy suggested he would have joined the Bianconeri, but for coach Max Allegri who wasn’t convinced by him.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that budgetary issues prevented the deal from happening but it was also due to the contract of Wojciech Szczesny who will remain with the club until 2024 on a large deal.

Gazzetta suggest that Donnarumma has come to realise that in Paris, there is a particular environment, and it’s logical for him to ‘look around’ at other clubs and possibly retrace his steps to Italy.

The report indicates a number of financial issues that would need to be rectified, however the ‘Juve option’ remains in the background and is perhaps more viable than before.
