New Fiorentina striker Moise Kean revealed that former teammate Dusan Vlahovic recommended the club to him. The Azzurri player was speaking in an interview with La Repubblica, and shared his initial thoughts of his new club:

Just days after his press conference presentation, Moise Kean departed with Fiorentina for Preston, their retreat location. Having joined the Tuscan club for 13 million euros plus 5 million in bonuses, the striker seeks redemption after finishing last season without scoring. Kean began the interview by discussing his transfer: “Vlahovic always spoke well of Florence. He told me that this city gave him a turning point, that it was also thanks to the people around him, who loved him very much. He advised me to come here and was happy with my choice.”

Subsequently, Kean spoke about young players in Italian football and racism: “We don’t manage to make good use of young players. I also had to go abroad to show that there are many young Italian talents. We still lack the right approach. It’s a step we’ll reach soon, I’m sure. When I was young, it used to upset me, I would tell myself: I breathe, you breathe, we are equal. We are human. What’s strange about that? Then I understood that we must fight. When you go outside Italy, you find mentalities that don’t arrive at these thoughts. Slowly we’ll make it, I hope as soon as possible.”

Finally, the striker concluded the interview by considering the importance of football in his life: “Without football, I would be in trouble by now. When you’re young, you have choices in front of you, and you need to make the right one. I didn’t have examples around me to follow. But I had one person, a dear friend of mine, who always told me to take the right path: that of playing football. Future? It’s now, and it’s Fiorentina.”
