Luis Muriel Leaves Atalanta and Flies to join Orlando City

Start

Colombian striker Luis Muriel has bid farewell to Atalanta and Europe as he heads to MLS to join Orlando City. While the transfer market in Italy closed on February 1st at 8:00 PM, many countries still have their transfer windows open. One of these countries is the United States, and it is in MLS where a deal with Serie A has been finalized: Luis Muriel will soon be a new player for Orlando City.

Sky Sport Italia report the striker departed this morning (Monday, February 12) from Linate to reach Orlando, where he will be presented in the coming days. Contrary to what emerged in recent days, Muriel will not return to Bergamo to bid farewell to the fans. His return is expected in about a month; the Colombian will agree on a date with Atalanta, who want to organize a fitting farewell for him before a match at the Gewiss Stadium.

Arriving in Bergamo in 2019, the Nerazzurri jersey is the one he has worn most in his career, 184 times, scoring 68 goals and providing 28 assists, taking part in historic moments for the club, such as the 2020 Champions League run, which ended in the quarter-finals with a defeat against Paris Saint-Germain.
