Mattia Zaccagni to renew with Lazio

Lazio winger Mattia Zaccagni looks set to renew his contract with the club until 2029, despite strong interest from Juventus. The 28-year-old has a contract with the Biancocelesti until 2025, but talks with the club over a contract renewal had reportedly stalled.

Sportitalia journalist Alfredo Pedulla now reports that after losing Felipe Anderson, Lazio orchestrated a surprise ‘blitz’ overnight and secured an agreement for the renewal of Zaccagni.

The winger has extended his contract with Lazio until June 30, 2029, agreeing an improved salary that will exceed €3 million per season plus bonuses.

Zaccagni had been awaiting renewal since last summer after his outstanding season led Lazio to second place. Juventus had a concrete interest and while there were meetings held, Lazio met with the players agent overnight and agreed a new deal.
