Mourinho: ‘Totti will always be a symbol of Roma’

Giallorossi coach José Mourinho insists that Francesco Totti will always be a symbol for Roma and his return to the club would not be a problem. The Special One gave an exclusive interview with La Gazzetta Dello Sport ahead of Roma’s trip to face Inter tomorrow.

Mourinho was the last coach to win the treble in Italy with Inter as well as numerous titles in Spain, England and Portugal – Gazzetta asked which of his many trophy wins was his favourite:

To me, it is impossible to choose, every trophy is unique.

Totti’s return? This problem does not exist, Francesco will always be a symbol of Roma, regardless of what he will do in his life.

Milan is the engine of Italy’s economy, Rome is the political centre and, we can say, the open-air museum of Italy’s history, I am lucky to have had the chance to coach in both cities.

Every stadium brings strong and pleasant memories, each one of them representing essential phases of my career.”
