Napoli director Manna: ‘The transfer market? We won’t do anything crazy…”

Start

During a press conference held at Napoli’s training camp in Castel di Sangro, Napoli director Giovanni Manna addressed several key topics related to the team’s market strategies under the guidance of coach Antonio Conte. The Partenopei had a disappointing 2023-24 campaign, ending the season in 10th place. Speaking to the press (as quoted by Calciomercato), Manna highlighted the clubs desire to return to playing in the Champions League next year and their expected activity in the transfer window:

Opportunities

“The market is often about opportunities, and when they arise, we will see. We are calm and not anxious; we have a competitive team for our objective, which is to return to the Champions League. It will be complicated, and there is much to do, but we are aware of our strength and characteristics,” Manna stated.

Strategy

“We aimed to provide the coach with a competitive team from the first days of training camp to immediately tackle the championship. There will be movements, as there is still a month of the market left, and we might make some additions. This is a process, a project starting this year with the coach at its center. We share a strategy with the club, and we are calm and clear-headed. We will not make any reckless moves but will make decisions that support our technical and tactical ideas,” Manna explained.

Striker Situation

“I am here to signal unity and to show that we are all one entity. Together, we must build something new with important values. That said, with Osimhen, Simeone, and Cheddira in attack, we are covered. There are still 30 days of the market, and we will make our evaluations,” Manna concluded.
