Napoli in direct talks with PSG for Osimhen

Start

The transfer market for Napoli is set to take a decisive turn with reports from Italy suggesting a possible sale of Victor Osimhen. According to Il Mattino, Aurelio De Laurentiis, Napoli’s president, is personally in contact with the top executives of PSG, leveraging his excellent relationship with Nasser Al-Khelaifi. A resolution regarding the Nigerian striker is expected within a couple of weeks. PSG are currently in the lead to secure the Nigerian striker , though competition is fierce, with Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United also in the fray.

Napoli have identified Romelu Lukaku as the ideal replacement for Osimhen, however, the Belgian striker’s annual salary of €14 million and Chelsea’s reluctance to offer discounts, as they did with Roma, complicate the deal. The move could become feasible if Osimhen decides to join Chelsea, but Il Mattino warn that patience will be required as negotiations unfold.

Napoli’s new head coach Antonio Conte expressed his excitement about the upcoming season in an interview with the club’s official channels:

“When I think of Napoli, many things come to mind: firstly, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. What kind of adventure will it be? An incredible professional and life experience, and I’m eager to live it. Having the opportunity to do this job, experiencing Napoli must be something unique that you should embrace if given the chance. A message for the fans? I can only say one thing to the fans: amma faticà (we must work hard).”
