Napoli are reportedly in talks to sign Girona forward Artem Dovbyk as they look for a replacement for Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian international looks almost certain to leave Naples this summer, and the Partenopei are working to find a suitable replacement.
In an interview with Calcio Napoli 24, transfer intermediary Doğan Ercan confirmed Napoli’s keen interest in Dovbyk, indicating recent communications with the La Liga side regarding the player.
Dovbyk, the Ukrainian forward, has emerged as a prime candidate on their transfer radar. Ercan stated, “Yes, it’s true. His [Dovbyk] transfer to Napoli is a concrete possibility.”
According to Ercan, three clubs, including Napoli, are actively pursuing Dovbyk, with discussions already initiated with his agent. He elaborated, “Yes, Napoli are among these three clubs. There are no other Serie A teams interested in Artem.”
Replacing Osimhen, who has been a pivotal figure in Napoli’s attacking lineup, poses a significant challenge. However, Dovbyk’s impressive record of 19 goals and five assists in 31 league matches makes him a compelling candidate to fill the striker position in Naples.
