Napoli are still pushing to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga following the departure of David Ospina this summer. The Partenopei are now left with just one senior goalkeeper in Alex Meret, although his contract ends in June 2023.
Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Kepa continues to be a live target for them and contacts between the club and the player are ongoing, as well as talks with Chelsea who are more open to the deal.
Di Marzio suggests the deal could result in Chelsea playing close to three quarters of the players salary while talks related to bonuses are ongoing. The Premier League side want two bonus related payments at around €1.5m while the agents of Kepa are working to reduce this figure.
Despite the ongoing discussions, there is optimism on all sides that a deal can be agreed for the 27-year-old while Napoli are also working on renewing the contract of Meret ahead of next summer.
