Will Gianluigi Donnarumma Move Back To Serie A This Summer?

Start

Gianluigi Donnarumma has been linked with a move back to Serie A this summer amid uncertainty over his PSG future.

Donnarumma has recently become a maiden Champions League winner after the Parisians thrashed Inter 5-0 at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

However, that hasn’t stopped questions arising about his commitment to the Ligue 1 giants. Donnarumma moved to the Parc des Princes on a free transfer in 2021 from Milan.

Will Gianluigi Donnarumma Quit PSG?

In May, it was reported that Gianluigi Donnarumma could leave PSG if contract talks stall. That was according to the player’s agent Enzo Raiola.

Donnarumma has enjoyed a fruitful four seasons in Paris. During his time at the Parc des Princes, the Italy captain has lifted 10 major trophies including four league titles and the 2024-25 Champions League.

Despite being a serial winner, Raiola is 50/50 whether his client will pen a new deal with Luis Enrique’s side. If he doesn’t, the 26-year-old won’t be short of admirers. However, the player himself expressed his happiness in the French capital

Gianluigi Donnarumma On His PSG Future

I feel good in Paris. Then it’s up to the club to decide whether to renew my contract or not. I’m ready for anything, but my first choice is Paris. I’ve found my balance,” Donnarumma said at Italy’s press conference ahead of Friday’s World Cup qualifier in Norway.

He went on to say: “The fans and the team care about me, and I hope to stay here for many years.”

Donnarumma’s agent Enzo Raiola previously said his client is more than happy at PSG. However, other options would be explored if a new deal failed to materlize.

If we don’t reach an agreement, we’ll consider other options; nothing is off the table,” Raiola said in May. “The project would be fundamental.”

Gianluigi Donnarumma Agent In Talks With Inter?

On Wednesday, Enzo Raiola was spotted at Inter’s headquarters. This suggests that Gianluigi Donnarumma’s agent is already in preliminary discussions with potential suitors.

His future? We need to talk to PSG again and then we will see. There are several proposals”. “Inter? For sure they like him but there’s nothing else. Same for Napoli,” Raiola told Sky Sport Italia.

The cousin of the late and world famous soccer agent Mino Raiola went on to quash rumors of Donnarumma potentially moving to the 2024-25 Serie A champions.

It’s pure fantasy. I’ve an excellent relationship with Director Giovanni Manna at Napoli, but we’ve never discussed Gigio,” Raiola stated to Radio CRC, as reported by Calciomercato.

Will Gianluigi Donnarumma Return To Serie A?

A switch back to Serie A is certainly gaining traction as Gianluigi Donnarumma’s contract talks continue to drag on. The Azzurri star accepted it is a possibility but perhaps not this summer.

Maybe, in a few years, things could change. Italy is definitely my home, and I do miss it a bit. Maybe one day I’ll come back, but for now I’m taking things day by day.

I feel good, and everyone at PSG has confidence in me. I’m happy, right now, I’m just focused on what I’m doing and enjoying everything in Paris,” he said.

Donnarumma is set for his 18th and 19th caps as Italy captain in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Norway and Moldova. The best betting apps for US players have all the latest markets and odds ahead of the double header.
