Inter Milan Set to Break Matchday Revenue Record in Champions League Semi-Final vs Barcelona

Start

Inter Milan are set to make Champions League history off the pitch as well as on it, with their second-leg semi-final clash against Barcelona expected to break all-time Italian club matchday revenue records.

The blockbuster tie at San Siro is currently poised at 3-3, setting the stage for a dramatic night in Milan.

How Much Will Inter Earn From the Barcelona Semi-Final?

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are projected to earn €14 million from ticket sales and matchday-related revenues alone. This would surpass the previous record of €12.5 million, which Inter set during the 2023 semi-final against AC Milan.

The Stadio Giuseppe Meazza is expected to be packed with 75,000 fans, including 4,500 Barcelona supporters who will travel from Spain for the highly anticipated clash.

Inter’s Total Champions League Earnings

The revenue from this matchday is just one part of Inter’s impressive financial windfall from the 2023–24 Champions League campaign. Including all income streams—ticketing, prize money, and broadcast rights—Inter have already generated more than €115 million.

Should they advance to the final, Inter will receive an additional €18.5 million. If they go on to win the competition, that figure jumps to a total of €25 million. Factoring in these potential bonuses, their total income from the tournament could rise to over €141 million.

Inter’s Path to the Final

After an electrifying first leg that ended 3-3, the second leg promises fireworks. Goals from Marcus Thuram, Denzel Dumfries, Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, and a Yann Sommer own goal left the tie finely balanced.

With such high stakes on the pitch, the financial implications only add to the significance of the match. You can read our full Inter vs Barcelona Champions League preview.

A sold-out crowd will ensure a powerful home advantage for Inter, with the atmosphere at San Siro likely to play a major role.
